Verb

A verb is a word used to tell something about some person or thing. For Read, Write, Learn, Jump, Run etc.

Kinds of Verb

Verbs are of two kinds:

  1. Transitive Verb
  2. Intransitive Verb

Transitive Verb

Transitive verb is a verb that shows an action which passes over from the subject to an object.
सकर्मक क्रिया (Transitive verb ) वह क्रिया (verb) है जिसका प्रभाव क्रिया करने वाले पर ही नहीं समाप्त होता बल्कि दूसरे शब्द को भी प्रभावित करता है। जैसे:

The boy writes a letter.
They play football.

There can be two objects of transitive verb:

  1. Direct Object: क्रिया से “What” लगाने पर जो उत्तर आता है उसे  Direct Object कहते है। Book, Story, Table etc
    He gave a book.
    Deepika did a nice movie.
  2. Indirect Object: क्रिया से “Whom” लगाने पर जो उत्तर आता है उसे  Indirect Object कहते है। Me, Him, Her etc
    For example:
    He gave me a book.
    Deepika told him a story.

Intransitive Verb

Intransitive verb is a verb that shows an action which does not pass over to an object.
अकर्मक क्रिया वह क्रिया है जो बिना कर्म के वाक्य के अर्थ को पूर्ण करती है। जैसे:
The child cries.
He laughs.

Adverb

Adverb is a word that modifies verb and adjective.
Adverb वह है जो Verb या  Adjective की विशेषता  बताता है।

Kinds of Adverb

Adverbs are of two kinds:

  1. Simple Adverb
  2. Interrogative Adverb
  3. Relative Adverb

Simple Adverb

Simple adverb is divided into 7 parts:

  1. Adverb of time – यह काम के समय को स्पष्ट करता है। For example –
    Wasted time never returns.
    Shahrukh Khan will soon come on stage.
  2. Adverb of place – यह कार्य के स्थान को स्पष्ट करता है। For example –
    The doctor is in.
    Rehan looked upwards.
  3. Adverb of Number – कार्य कितनी बार हुआ का पता Adverb of Number से चलता है। For example –
    Akshay Kumar never comes late in shooting.
    I often go for outing.
  4. Adverb of Manner – Adverb of Manner का पता काम करने के ढंग से चलता है।
    For example –
    Mohan faced his enemy bravely.
    The baby slept soundly.
  5. Adverb of Quantity – यह कार्य की मात्रा को स्पष्ट करता है।
    For example –
    Kapil Sharma is very funny.
    Dilip Kumar is too old to work in a film now.
  6. Adverb of Affirmation/Negation – This adverb tells whether the point is negative or positive. For example –
    Shahid Kapoor never did any horror movie.
    He will certainly win election.
  7. Adverb of Reason – यह Adverb कारण बताता है। For example –
    Good people are hence unable to stay in politics.

Interrogative Adverb

Interrogative Adverb का प्रयोग प्रश्न पूछने के लिए किया जाता है। For example –
When did Dangal release?
Where does Amitabh Bachhan live?

Relative Adverb

Relative adverb दो वाक्यों को जोड़ते हुए अपने से पहले आये Noun की ओर संकेत करते है तथा समय स्थान और कारण बताते है।  For example –
This is the reason why he could not pass.
This is the city where Kangna was born.
